Statistically Callao Salvaje has more hours of
sunlight per day than any other area in Tenerife. Situated in
an quiet upmarket village just a 5 minute walk to the main area
of Callao Salvaje with hotels, bars, banks,
restaurants, pharmacy, doctors, supermarkets etc
The resort of Callao Salvaje is
just a 10 minute drive from the busy Las Americas and Los
Cristianos. The resort does have some late night bars with plenty
of entertainment, and is also well known for some exquisite
restaurants some in true Canarian fashion. There are a handful of
local hotels nearby.
Taxis are easily available for those wishing to venture out as
the nearby taxi rank and main bus stop is just a 5 minute walk. The
local beach itself is half sand, half pebble with many rocks and a
jetty that is ideal for fishing, snorkelling etc. The stunning Del
Duque beach is only 10 minute drive, offering all Water
Sports. The new state of the art Abama golf course complex in Adeje
is only a ten minute drive away and there is a nearby tennis club.

For years residents and regular visitors to the small
village and resort of Callao Salvaje have
patiently (mostly) waited for work on the Ajabo beach to begin.
They have been promised and promised that work was due to
start any day, and at last it would seem that day has almost
arrived.
According to Adeje tourism councillor Miguel Ángel Santos the
decision has now been made and licence for the work granted to
Corsan-Corvian Construcción. It will take seven months (half
the original time framework), and should, says the councillor,
begin in November, funded by the department of the
environment.According to Miguel Ángel Santos "this is a very
important day for residents who are going to see their number one
demand, the improvement of the beach, met at last". He added
that if the work was completed as planned the zone should be
completed by next summer.
